Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6th 2026
This policy applies to MMP Home Solutions Inc., operating as MMP Home Solutions ("MMP", "we" or "us"). We install, repair and maintain heating, cooling and water heating equipment, and we provide cleaning services, in Ottawa and the surrounding region. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to our website, mmphs.com, and to information you give us when you call, text, email or hire us.
The short version
- We collect what we need to quote, schedule and do the work, bill you and stand behind it.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We share it with companies that help us run the business, when you ask us to, or when the law requires it.
- You can ask to see or correct your information, and you can stop our marketing messages at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us. Depending on how you deal with us, this can include:
- Your name, phone number, email address and service address
- What you need, such as the equipment you want quoted or the service you're booking, and anything you write in a message
- Details about your home and equipment, including photos, model and serial numbers, and access instructions
- Quotes, work orders, invoices, payment records and warranty details
- Calls, texts, emails and feedback you send us
Please don't put payment card numbers or other sensitive details in our forms or messages.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our providers may collect your IP address, information about your browser, network and device, the pages you visited before and during your visit, and your clicks, scrolling, searches and the times of your visit.
Information from others. We may receive information from someone who refers you to us, or from reviews you post on sites like Google and HomeStars. Our Reviews page shows public Google reviews, including the reviewer's name and any photo they posted.
How we use it
- To respond to your request, give you a quote and book your appointment
- To do the work, follow up, and honour warranties and service plans
- To invoice you, process payments and keep business and tax records
- To send service messages, such as appointment details and follow-ups, by phone, text or email
- To ask for your feedback or a review
- To send news and offers if you've agreed, or where the law otherwise allows it
- To understand and improve how our website and advertising perform
- To protect our website from spam and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations
Your consent
We collect, use and share personal information with your consent, except where the law allows otherwise. Sometimes you give consent directly, such as when you tick the box to sign up for news and updates. Sometimes it's implied, such as when you give us your address so we can come to your home. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal and contractual limits. If that affects what we can do for you, we'll tell you.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share only what's needed with:
- Companies that help us run the business, such as our website, form, email, phone, scheduling, accounting, payment, analytics and advertising providers
- Technicians and subcontractors working on your job
- Manufacturers and suppliers, to register a warranty or get parts for your equipment
- Lenders, rebate programs and others you ask us to deal with. They handle your information under their own privacy policies.
- Government bodies, regulators and courts, where the law requires or allows it
- A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or reorganized
Our website and email currently use Squarespace (website, forms and site analytics), Google (email and form spam protection), Weglot (language selector) and Elfsight (the review display on our Reviews page).
Information stored outside Canada
Some of our providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it's there, it's subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it. Contact us if you have questions about this.
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies are small files your browser stores. Our website uses:
- Necessary cookies that let Squarespace, our website host, deliver the site securely and keep it working
- Analytics cookies that show us site traffic and activity. You can read about the cookies Squarespace uses.
- Google reCAPTCHA on our forms, which helps block spam. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to it.
- Advertising and measurement tools. We may use Google Ads and Google Analytics to see whether our ads lead to calls and quote requests, and to show ads to people who may need our services. If we advertise on Facebook or Instagram, we may also use the Meta Pixel for the same purposes.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working. You can also manage ads through Google's My Ad Center and Meta's ad preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
Marketing messages
We send news and offers only with your consent, or where Canada's anti-spam law otherwise allows it. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. To stop marketing texts, reply and tell us, or contact us using the details below. We may still contact you about your appointments, invoices, warranty or the work we've done for you.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. We generally keep tax and accounting records for at least six years. We may keep equipment and service history for longer if it's useful for warranties, safety or future service on your equipment. When we no longer need information, we securely delete or anonymize it.
How we protect it
We use safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information, including password-protected accounts, access limited to people who need it, and secure storage for paper records. No website or system is completely secure. If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we'll notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- What personal information we hold about you, how we've used it and who we've shared it with
- For access to your information
- To correct information that's wrong or incomplete
Send your request in writing using the details below. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We'll respond within 30 days. If we need more time, as the law allows in some cases, we'll tell you within those 30 days. In some cases the law allows or requires us to refuse access, such as when a record includes information about someone else. If so, we'll explain why.
Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, including Google, Facebook, Instagram and HomeStars. They have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
